Corporate culture in the selected company

The aim of master thesis was to characterize the corporate culture with the help of the specification of their cultural dimensions and to propose changes leading to the desired state of corporate culture in the selected company. The company Účetnictví online s.r.o was selected for the research. The first part summarizes the general knowledge gained from the literature from individual authors dealing with the issue. The second part of the work is devoted to the questionnaire survey. The VSM 2013 questionnaire was used to obtain key information, which was used to process key information to determine the resulting cultural dimensions and the current state of corporate culture. An unstructured interview and personal observation were used to understand the image of corporate culture, which is then used to discuss individual issues. In the end, measures are proposed pointing out the gaps and shortcomings in the company and leading to the desired state of corporate culture leading to the knowledge of the company.
Corporate Culture in the Chosen Company

The aim of the thesis, which is named Corporate Culture in the Chosen Company, is to characterize a corporate culture with the help of specification of its crucial cultural dimensions and the consequent proposals of a suitable action to improve the corporate culture. Thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains terms corporate culture, typology of corporate culture, cultural dimension, knowledge economy etc. In the practical part there are surveys via questionnaires VSM 1994 & 2013, non-standardized interview and personal observation. In the conclusion, there are suggestions to improve corporate culture.
Corporate Culture and Personnel Activities in a Selected Business

The topic of this diploma thesis is Corporate Culture and Personnel Activities in a Selected Business. The aim of the thesis is to characterize the corporate culture with the help of specification of its crucial cultural dimensions in connection with the personal activities and proposing changes leading to the desired state in the selected business. The research was carried out at the company of an engineer Jan Hutkay. The thesis is divided into four main parts - literary research, aim and methodology of work, characteristics of the current state in the business and discussion, summarized evaluation and proposals for changes. Literary research is focused on explanation of important terms related to corporate culture and personnel activities. It is followed by the summarization of the aim of the work and the research methods. Quantitative research methods used in the work included the questionnaire survey in the form of the Personnel Activity Questionnaire and the VSM 94 a 2013 tests. Among the qualitative methods used for the purposes of the thesis belong observations, unstructured interviews and Color Semantic Differential Tests were used from qualitative methods. The current situation in the company was characterized by the analysis of the individual questionnaires, which was supplemented with the information obtained through interviews and observations. After a thorough analysis and interconnection of the results of all research methods, it has been found out that corporate culture tends to deserve the dimensions of low power distance, femininity, collectivism, and acceptance of risks and changes. The undesirable resultant dimensions include the short-term business orientation and the dimension of indulgence. The final part of the thesis focuses on designing measures that stabilize the desired cultural dimensions and, above all, change the undesirable cultural dimensions. The results of the personnel activities' questionnaire which identified the main shortcomings and problems were used to suggest specific changes. The introduction of the proposed changes directs the enterprise closer to the knowledge economy, which improves its performance and competitiveness.
Corporate Culture and its Changes

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze corporate culture in a selected organization with a proposal for a change in corporate culture leading to the desired state of cultural dimensions of the knowledge economy. This thesis is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The first part consists of a literary research, which was developed on the basis of the literature related to this issue, including corporate culture and related concepts. In the second part, an analysis of the given issue was carried out. Required information was obtained using the VSM 94 & 2013 questionnaire by Geert Hofstede and the TBSD test. For better quality research, unstructured interviews with the staff took place, as well as an observation, which contributed to the understanding of the organization's entire structure. In the end, changes were proposed in order to improve the situation in the organization and shift it further toward the desired knowledge economy.
Corporate culture as a factor of functionality

This diploma thesis deals with the characteristic of the corporate culture of the chosen enterprise. Specifically, the thesis focuses on the desirable state of the corporate culture. In the methodology, the criterion of desirable functionality of corporate culture is determined according to the cultural dimensions by G. Hofstede. This criterion requires an enterprise to operate on bases of knowledge economy with focus on new innovative approaches and competitiveness. The data was obtained through three conducted investigations. The first two were closest to the questionnaire survey. The first one was called the "Questionnaire - The Power of Corporate Culture" and the other one was called Values Survey Module 2013 (VSM 2013). The third research was quantitative with qualitative elements - Colour Semantic Differential Test. Finally, changes that can help to move to the entirely desirable state of enterprise culture are proposed.
The training for people deployed to missions abroad

(in English): The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the professional training of humanitarian and development workers, working on the missions abroad in the Global South countries. The main focus is on the intercultural training. This thesis describes the specifics of humanitarian and development missions, cultural adaptation and follows up the impact of culture on humanitarian and development work and the possibilities of a professional training. The main goal of this work is to characterize a professional training for workers preparing to work abroad. Part of this goal was to compare several Czech and international organizations. A survey was made to reach this goal. In the conclusion is a summary of the information that was found and the recommendations.
Human resources in rural development
HLAVÁČKOVÁ, Jana
The work presents one of the Geert Hofstede's approaches to cultural dimensions and and directing their application for the development of rural region to the knowledge economy by influencing the development of human capital. Quantitative research was conducted by questionnaire survey in order to determine the state of the local community, particularly the socio-economic characteristics of the village and material security of the population. The identification of cultural dimensions was carried out using quantitative research VSM 94 & 13. Subsequently, research was expanded to include qualitative research using CSDT.

This bachelor thesis deals with crucial cultural and business specifics of Canada. First chapter approaches country from geographic, demographic, political and historical perspective. Second chapter describes its current economic situation and the foreign trade of the state - Canadian import and export. Following chapter focuses on aspects of Canadian business negotiation and business etiquette. The last chapter of my bachelor thesis classifies cultural differences between Canada and Czech Republic using Hofstede's dimensions.
Impact of the organizational culture in selected company.

This master thesis deals with identification of substantial culture dimensions and analysis of the influence of organizational culture on particular company. The goal of the thesis was to propose improvements leading to a desired state of the company culture. The research was made with the cooperation of World Systems Market Inc. Czech headquarters, the WSM Bohemia s.r.o. company. The required information was obtained by a detailed questionnaire (VSM 94) and by the other methods; uncontrolled interviews, participated observation and comparison. The questionnaire VSM (see the attachment 1) was employed in the year 2014 and again in 2015. Both periods were compared and change in the situation was described. The next step was analysis of the data to find out whether the organization shows a trend towards a knowledge company. The research has demonstrated that the company shows a trend away from the principles of the knowledge economy in the comparison with the prior year. The changes were proposed to improve the situation. The main changes are focused on the unification of the employees team-building activities and celebrations. It is also important to improve communication flows in WSM Bohemia Company, particularly diagonal flow and downward flow. Another suggestion is organization of the meetings on regular basis, in order to inform employees, with aim to set goals and visions that are accepted and shared within the company. Employees should be involved in the planning processes and their proposals and suggestions should be utilized. Last but not least, it is important to focus on planning for professional growth, which means to define requirements and realize particular training courses. In today's global world it is of the most importance for organization to become the knowledge company. Correct organizational culture leads to increase in innovative capacity, readiness for action, inner quality and competitive ability, which is all important for viability of the company.
